How Superpowers works

How the Claude Superpowers workflow fits into Claude Code.

The plugin adds a set of development skills. Claude Code can use those skills when the current task matches a planning, testing, debugging, review, or collaboration workflow.

01
Install

Claude Code installs the plugin from a marketplace.

The official route is superpowers@claude-plugins-official. Claude Code handles the plugin installation and local plugin cache.

02
Discover

Plugin skills become available to the coding agent.

Superpowers contains development skills and workflow guidance covering areas such as brainstorming, implementation planning, TDD, debugging, and review.

03
Match

The workflow is selected when the task calls for it.

A feature request may need brainstorming and planning. A failing test may call for systematic debugging. A new behavior may benefit from a test-first workflow.

04
Execute

Claude follows the selected workflow through the task.

The goal is not to make responses longer. It is to make the development process more deliberate, reviewable, and evidence-driven.

05
Verify

Results are checked before completion.

Tests, expected behavior, plan items, and review steps provide evidence that the work actually meets the intended outcome.

Important distinction

Superpowers is not a prompt generator.

A prompt generator produces text you paste into an AI model. The Superpowers plugin changes the development workflow available inside supported coding-agent environments. That is why this site is structured around installation, verification, workflows, and troubleshooting instead of generic prompt generation.

Best next step

Install Superpowers, open a real codebase, and use one concrete feature or bug to observe how the workflow behaves.
